Lot #10. Georges Roumier Bonnes-Mares 2004

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 94 JG.
"As the youngest and least evolved of all the ’04 Roumier wines that I tasted for this report, the Bonnes-Mares is also the most peppery at the present time, but I have little doubt that this is just a passing phase. The wine offers up a superb nose of dark berries, red and black cherries, game, espresso, white pepper, woodsmoke and complex soil tones. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, powerfully built and still quite primary, with excellent mid-palate depth, fine focus, plenty of ripe, well-integrated tannins, tangy acids and outstanding length and grip on the soil-driven and laser-like finish. A classic Roumier Bonnes-Mares in the making, the 2004 will need at least another six years to fully blossom, and will be a superb bottle a decade out from this time. Nothing off vintage about this wine!" John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Mar/Apr 2009, Issue #20
Provenance: The Huître Cellar
Lot Location: Orange County
Estimate: $700
