96+ JG. "The 2009 Richebourg chez Méo is another brilliant example of the vintage. The deep and utterly profound nose delivers scents of red and black cherries, plums, a touch of blood orange, woodsmoke, cocoa powder, duck, beautiful soil tones and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very, very elegant, with a rock solid core of fruit, ripe tannins and great length and grip on the supremely elegant finish. The Méo-Camuzet style of Richebourg is never a blockbuster, and this stylistic bent has really done it a great service in a potentially riper year such as 2009, as this wine is a beautiful synthesis of ripe, pure fruit and classy soil."
