Lot #836. Pott Cabernet Sauvignon Bisagno Vineyard Turf War 2012

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 96 RP.
"From a vineyard that is essentially the front yard of Pott’s St. Helena home, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Turf War Bisagno Vineyard comes from Aiken red gold clay loam soils, an important terroir component of a couple of other famous wines, particularly Colgin’s Tychson Hill. This spectacular wine possesses copious amounts of blackberry, blueberry, and dark cherry fruit, incense, graphite and a touch of oak. With a full-bodied, voluptuously textured, stunning finish, this [is a] prodigious, world-class Cabernet Sauvignon . . . . Aaron Pott is about to become the next brilliant winemaking consultant to burst out from the shadows of consulting with his own bevy of sensational and individualistic wines. His résumé is impressive, having worked with the likes of the late Christine Valette at Château Troplong-Mondot, Michel Rolland, and Johns Kongsgaard at Newton. He is doing some terrific consulting work, but he is saving some of his most interesting projects for himself as the following tasting notes clearly evidence. Barrel tastings of the 2013s confirm that this is another great vintage, and with these two years Aaron Pott will receive enormous attention for not only his consulting work, but for his own wines. Kudos to Aaron Pott who appears to have put himself in the top hierarchy of Napa Valley’s most illustrious winemaking consultants." Wine Advocate #215, Oct 2014
