Lot #257. Hubert Lignier Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes 2014

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 91+ JG.
"The parcel of vines that the Lignier family owns in les Baudes were planted in 1958 and lie in the extreme northern end of this fine premier cru, sandwiched between Bonnes-Mares above it on the slope and les Sentiers below. This is a small triangular section of the vineyard and the Lignier vines are planted here north-south because of the shape of this section, rather than with the customary east-west orientation. The 2014 version is a lovely wine, offering up a more black fruity personality on both the nose and palate, with the bouquet a mix of plums, black cherries, dark chocolate, gamebird, dark soil tones, smoke and fresh herbs in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with fine structure and balance, moderate tannins and lovely focus and grip on the vibrant and long finish. Good juice, but this will need a bit longer in the cellar than the Chabiots to blossom." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2015, Issue #60
Provenance: The Friendship Cellar
Notes: Nicked, scuffed, lightly wrinkled, lightly damp stained label.
