92 WA. "The 2001 Livernano is a Bordeaux blend with a bit of Sangiovese. Dark ruby in color, powerful and penetrating on the nose with plummy, jammy fruit in addition to peppery, sage-like varietal notes, it is very solid and deep on the palate, firm and textured from the attack to the finish, and with a tarry, mineral, black currant finish. Already approachable, it will reward a bit of patience . . . . Impressive winemaking from Stefano Chioccioli here." Wine Advocate #152, Apr 2004 |
