94 JD. "Brought up in larger barrels and a blend of 53% Syrah, 36% Grenache and 11% Mourvèdre, the 2014 Luna Matta comes all from Paso Robles and reveals an opaque purple/black color. Cracked pepper, blackberry fruits, scorcher earth/charcoal and hint of sappy herbs all emerge from this full-bodied, concentrated Syrah that shines in the more forward, charming style of the vintage. It's good now, but has enough tannin to warrant a year or more in bottle." Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com, Aug 2017 |
