90 RP. "The two 1993 Cabernet Sauvignons are beautifully built, authoritatively-flavored and dense wines with an undeniable sense of finesse and elegance. There is good purity, well-integrated toasty oak, and fine acidity. While both wines are accessible, each is in need of some time in the cellar. The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder exhibits a Bordeaux-like gracefulness and firm tannin, as well as superb blackcurrant aromas and flavors intertwined with high quality oak, minerals, and spice. It should age well . . . . Impressive winemaking is evident in all of these efforts from Robert Craig." Wine Advocate #106, Aug 1996 |
