Lot #509. Skipstone Proprietary Red Faultline Vineyard 2014

Description: Consists of 6 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 92 RP.
"The 2014 Faultline Vineyard is 59% Cabernet Franc, 24% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Malbec. It seems slightly less profoundly concentrated than its older sibling, the 2013, but it is juicy, savory and front end-loaded, as so many 2014s are. The fruits tend to move toward the darker red personalities. The wine has some underbrush and forest floor notes along with a medium to full-bodied, succulent texture. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. The impressive 28-acre amphitheater Skipstone Estate Vineyard sits between two hillsides in the Alexander Valley. I’ve noticed over the past 10 to 15 years how the quality of Alexander Valley Bordeaux blends has jumped impressively. This is just one more example of high-quality wines that are made from Bordeaux varietals produced, not in Napa Valley, but in Alexander Valley." Wine Advocate #227, Oct 2016
Provenance: The Aragonés Cellar
Lot Location: Orange County
