Lot #110. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg 1964

Description: Consists of 3 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 94 AM.
This rivals if does not surpass the incredible complexity of the '62 and the breadth of nuance and perfume here is impossible to describe and leads to still powerful, very rich and full, indeed even muscular flavors of real depth and a velvety, superbly long finish. This too coats the palate and remains gorgeously balanced even after almost 40 years. This is holding very well and while there is no further improvement to be expected, neither is a decline yet in sight. Incredibly impressive and while it can't match the other worldly '62, it is more than a match for the '61 and '69 and it's a photo finish contender with the '66. Allen Meadows, May 08, 2003
