Lot #143. Ponsot (Domaine des Chezeaux) Clos Saint-Denis Vieilles Vignes 1988

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 95 AM.
"After years of following this wine, it is finally completely ready and offers elegant, fine and intricate aromatics of spice, leather, earth and secondary fruit aromas though no sous-bois. There if superb concentration to the rich and wonderfully seductive medium-bodied flavors that possess outstanding persistence. The old vine character really comes through, which combined with the silky texture make this completely riveting. I should note as well that the structure has now almost completely mellowed and there is none of the austerity and tough tannic spine that some '88s still show today. In sum, this is a fantastic wine that is drinking perfectly now and one that should continue to do so . . ." Burghound.com, Mar 15, 2014
