91+ JG. "The 2000 Vaillons is quite a step up from the Forêt in terms of concentration, but it is also going to be a wine that drinks rather on the early side. Here the vines are twenty-five years of age, and the additional depth from the older vines is quite apparent. The nose offers up scents of apple, a bit of grapefruit, incipient notes of beeswax, floral tones and lovely oyster shell terroir. On the palate the wine is medium-full, bright and quite deep, with excellent depth at the core, superb soil inflection, and excellent length and grip on the snappy finish."
