Lot #19. Armand Rousseau Chambertin 1999

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 99 DC.
"An outstanding version, one of the best ever. It has an intense, garnet color and a very dense and complex aroma with scents of ripe wild strawberries bordering on jam and enriched by notes of vanilla and cassis and more smoky tones in the background, a sign that the bouquet is reaching its peak. The mouthfeel is full, rich and quite tannic. It is almost as if this was a young wine that can already be consumed with pleasure even with its residual youthful traits. Without a doubt a great wine, one that flaunts a Burgundy’s unmistakable characteristics, alternating both its surliness and charm in a sensuous dialectic which is irresistible for those who love Burgundy. It will continue to evolve for decades and reach unimaginable heights." Daniele Cernilli, DoctorWine.it, Nov 2014
Provenance: The Chevalier Cellar
Lot Location: Orange County
Estimate: $3,500
