97+ JG. "It is not very often that I choose Richebourg over Romanée-St.-Vivant, but at Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat in 2010, my heart lies with the Richebourg this year when trying to handicap the best wine of this superb collection in this fantastic vintage. The utterly brilliant bouquet offers up a complex mélange of red and black cherries, red plums, cocoa powder, blood orange, absolutely beautiful soil tones, woodsmoke, roses and a beautifully discreet base of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and velvety on the attack, with a great core of sappy fruit, stunning transparency (particularly for young Richebourg), fine-grained tannins and stunning length and grip on the endless finish. This is a full-bodied and properly reserved young bottle of Richebourg that is so seamlessly balanced that it will be at risk from the outset of succumbing to temptation and infanticide. But, bury it deep and give it at least a full decade in the cellar to allow all of its secondary layers of complexity to emerge. A brilliant wine!"
