The Norman Burnam Collection

The late Mr. Burnam began collecting wine back in the 1960s. At the time he sought advice from Nathan Chroman, then the wine writer for the Los Angeles Times, as well as John Brincko, a well-known wine connoisseur and collector. Armed with priceless knowledge and insights, Mr. Burnam became a very selective buyer, collecting the best Bordeaux, DRC and other great Burgundies in case quantities, all from reputable retailers. Almost all of the wine in the collection was purchased on release or as futures, and has been in the continuous possession of Mr. Burnam and his heirs ever since. The wine was moved only one time, from his home cellar to a professional wine storage facility in West Los Angeles in the late 1990s, where it has remained undisturbed until we moved it to our warehouse for this auction. The collection has it all: impeccable provenance, beautiful cosmetic appearance, fantastic ?lls. We anticipate fast and furious bidding activity from all around the world. Don’t miss out on this golden opportunity.

"I’ve had this wine many times and it is always a dark horse at a dinner table with Classified Growths.  It is ready to go, with a medium bodied, classic Claret profile complete with that Bordelais crispiness and firm structure.  Red fruits more than black fruits, lots of sous bois and character."
