95 WA. "There is nothing obvious about the 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet La Romanee; rather this is a wine that stands out for its superb textural finesse and pure elegance. The 2010 is a decidedly weightless, pure Burgundy endowed with stunning inner perfume and fabulous overall balance. Stylistically, it is the polar opposite of the Cailleret. Today, my sense is that the 2010 will age beautifully, but time will tell. In 2010, the La Romanee is all about finesse . . . . Once again, I tasted with Jacques Lardiere and Frederic Barnier during a marathon session that lasted several hours. Lardiere has been on a whirlwind tour celebrating his last year at Jadot before his long-announced retirement, but I will believe he is stepping down when I see it. Lifers like Lardiere simply don’t retire. As for the wines, Jadot’s 2010s are unqualified successes across the board." Wine Advocate #202, Aug 2012 |
