Lot #10. Giacomo Conterno Barolo Riserva Monfortino 1964

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Region: Italy, Piedmont, Barolo.
Score: 99 DC.
"An historic year and an historic Monfortino. The color is still the classic ‘Barolo’ clear red with coquettish orange nuances that remain lively, transparent and strong. The aromas are more varietal than ever with wild berry jam and, above all, a lot of spice, those spices used for roasts like juniper and cloves, accompanied by the ever-present sweet licorice. These are followed by notes of eucalyptus and pine needles. As always, the mouthfeel is a very precious cloth that caresses the palate." Daniele Cernilli, DoctorWine.it, Jan 2014
Provenance: The Tower Cellar
Notes: Base neck, lightly corroded and bin soiled capsule, nicked, lightly scuffed and bin soiled vintage neck tag, nicked, bin soiled, lightly wrinkled, lightly scuffed label.
