Lot #275. Latour 1962

Description: Consists of 5 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 95 RP.
". . . continues to be one of the great vintages for this chateau. A dense opaque garnet color reveals amber at the edge, as well as an incredible perfume of cedar wood, balsam, coffee, black fruits, leather, and cigar smoke. The wine is supple and full-bodied, with sweet tannin, glorious levels of fruit and extract, abundant glycerin, and a seductive, truffle-flavored finish. While it has been drinkable for two decades, it is capable of lasting another 20 years. It is a perfectly balanced, exciting Latour that remains undervalued as well as underrated." Wine Advocate # 129, Jun 2000
Provenance: The Tower Cellar
Notes: 3 top shoulder, 2 upper mid shoulder, 3 tissue stained, lightly scuffed Château and vintage-branded capsule, Château and vintage-branded cork visible below short capsule, 1 lightly wine damp stained, bin soiled and lightly scuffed, 1 import sticker partially covering labels, 2 signs of slight past seepage.
