96 JG. "The 1993 Roumier Bonnes-Mares is another brilliant example of the vintage. The bouquet is deep and quite typical of the vintage in its black fruity interpretation of the terroir. The wine soars from the glass in a blend of black cherries, plums, a bit of dark chocolate, venison, striking minerality, and a topnote of black truffles. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and powerful, with a great mid-palate core, bright acids, and tremendous length and grip on the stunning, complex and powerful finish. This is a great bottle in the making that demands at least another five to eight years of cellaring to fully apogee- drinking it before this is infanticide."
