Lot #342. Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 1993

Description: Consists of 2 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 97 AM.
"Still relatively if no longer completely primary with a nose that is the crystalline essence of black cherry pinot sap and leads to massively structured and thick flavors with dense, ripe tannins that are completely buffered by all the extract. This is flat out great and still quite youthful though the initial signs of maturity are now evident. In my view, this is the best de Vogüé Musigny since at least '71 and is a monument in the making as it will live for 50 years without breathing hard. Multiple, and largely consistent notes . . . . the two most recent bottles were almost perfect with a silky mouth feel and well-integrated tannins." Burghound.com, Dec 04, 2011
Provenance: The Tower Cellar
Notes: 2.5cm or better, 1 lightly wrinkled capsule,1 very lightly bin soiled, nicked labels, #00851, 00854.
