93 JG. "The wine is really quite lovely, offering up a sweet nose of raspberries, cherries, cocoa powder, sous bois, cinnamon and cedary wood. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure and lush, with good depth at the core, admirable purity for the vintage, and good length and bounce on the tangy finish. The ’89 DRC RSV has really impressive acidity for this torrid year, and is one of the better bottles of 1989 red Burgundy that I have tasted in recent years. It will continue to drink well . . ."
