97+ JG. "It is woefully early to be broaching bottles of the 2000 Coche Corton-Charlie, but for those with the need to know, this is destined to be a pretty amazing vintage for this wine. The nose is still in its very primary and floral, offering up impressively delicate notes of apple, pear, lemon zest, spring flowers, almond paste, kaleidoscopic minerality and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is fullish and tight, with excellent depth at the core, laser-like focus, and a rapier-like backend. This may not have quite the same depth and power as the 1999, but it seems to be even finer and more expressive than that more massive vintage. This will be a great wine . . ."
