Lot #540. Lafleur 1979

Description: Consists of 2 Bottles, 0.75L
Region: France, Bordeaux, Pomerol.
Score: 98+ RP.
"Along with Haut Brion, this is one of the two candidates for the wine of the vintage. The wine is approaching full maturity, yet still seems so atypical for a 1979, a phenomenally concentrated, thick, massively endowed wine with huge levels of extract, tannin, and power. The wine still has some dusty tannins and a huge nose of sweet black truffles intermixed with blackberries, plums, figs, and minerals. Very powerful, as well as enormously endowed, this is a remarkable effort in this vintage . . ." Bordeaux Book, 4th Edition, Dec 2002
Provenance: The Tower Cellar
Notes: 1 base neck, 1 very top shoulder, 1 nicked, lightly scuffed, adhesive residue on capsules, 1 sign of slight past seepage, heavily glue stained, heavily bin soiled, damp stained, lightly scuffed, 1 import sticker partially covering label.
