Lot #1130. Léoville Barton 1959

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 94 RP.
"Tasted 3 times with consistent notes. Leoville-Barton had a strong decade from the late forties through the fifties. The powerhouse 1959 is fully mature, but exhibits no signs of fading. It is large-scaled and muscular, with a huge, cedary, earthy, black fruit-scented nose, gobs of glycerin and alcohol, and a heady, spicy finish with some noticeable tannin. Will the 1982 be its contemporary counterpart?" Wine Advocate #95, Oct 1994
Provenance: The Tower Cellar
Notes: Very top shoulder, worn, lightly torn, and very lightly corroded short capsule reveals vintage-branded cork, heavily torn, tattered, damp stained, bin soiled label.
