90 RP. The 1988 Chambertin-Clos de Beze may not be as profound as the 1985, but it is still another top-notch effort from Faiveley. It is softer and more approachable than usual, without the structure and depth typical of this wine. In comparison to most of the wines Faiveley produced from this vineyard, it is destined to be relatively short lived, lasting only for 8-12 years. It has a big, beefy, chocolate and berry-scented bouquet, and soft, smooth flavors. Burgundy Book # B2, Jan 1990 |
