93+ JG. "Ghislaine Barthod’s 2008 les Fuées has no difficulty keeping pace with the superb Charmes, as this too is an outstanding bottle of Chambolle. The bouquet is a terrific mélange of red and black cherries, pomegranate, great minerality, woodsmoke and a pungent topnote of violets. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, long and very tangy, with fine mid-palate depth, great structure and brilliant length and grip on the seamless and beautifully focused finish. Another superb wine." John Gilman, View From the Cellar #24, Dec 2009 |
