Lot #456. Lafite Rothschild 1988

Description: Consists of 10 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 99 JMQ.
"Dark, red color. Good intensity. Cohesive. Crystalline. Pretty. Young. First nose: clean; average intensity; very fine, complex, and fresh, with a great sense of concentration; cassis; oak; vanilla; violet; nervy. Also with a touch of evolution and savor but it's nuanced. On the palate: clean and supple, developing a tight structure, of good intensity and, as it evolves, fat, juicy, and complex while melting; built on flavors of fruits and flowers, moving towards a powerful finale where the palate puckers with fruity tannin - floral and fine liquorice. Cannot spit. Great impression of freshness, concentration and yet the whole is so enigmatically aerial. Very racy. Quintessential wine." Jean-Marc Quarin, Quarin.com, Sep 1994
Provenance: The Bergamot Cellar
Notes: 8 base neck or better, 2 very top shoulder, 2 nicked and very lightly scuffed capsules, 1 nicked label.
