"Saturated ruby-red. Bright aromas of cassis, black cherry, licorice, violet and minerals. Sweet, juicy and pliant in the mouth, with harmonious acidity framing and lifting the black fruit, violet and mint flavors. Finishes firmly tannic and persistent, with enticing aromatic quality. Very sexy wine, from 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. Some of the vines here date back to 1902, according to consulting winemaker Stephane Derenoncourt." Vinous, May 2004
