89 ST. "(aged for 18 months in French oak) Bright ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of raspberry liqueur and licorice. Concentrated and densely packed, with saline, mineral and dried fruit notes firmed by sappy acidity. Nicely creamy in the middle despite its uncompromising dryness. Lingering finish features mocha and smoky oak. The aim of winemaker Trevor Mast is to make a more elegant, less jammy style of Barossa shiraz." Vinous, Jul 2004 |
