93 JG. "The superb Beaune “Grèves” vineyard is a relatively recent addition to the Jadot lineup, as this two thirds of a hectare parcel came from the Domaine Robert Tourlière. The vines here are now over twenty-five years of age, and this is the best Beaune premier cru in the cellar this year. The bouquet is deep, complex and refined, as it offers up a mélange of red plums, black cherries, earth, woodsmoke, raw cocoa and a pungent topnote of violets. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and beautifully focused, with a rock solid core of fruit, bright acids, fine-grained tannins, and outstanding length and grip on the complex and very pure finish. A Beaune of great class." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Jan/Feb 2007, Issue #7 |
