94 JG. "The 1995 Ruchottes-Chambertin from Christophe Roumier is an excellent bottle in the making, and all this fine wine needs is further bottle age to really blossom into a superb Ruchottes. The bouquet is pure, complex and quite refined in its blend of red and black cherries, cocoa powder, a beautifully elegant base of soil, mustard seed, heather and spiced meats. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and rock solid at the core, with perfectly integrated, moderate tannins, good acids, fine focus and grip and a long, well-balanced and classy finish. Fine, fine juice." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Jan/Feb 2016, Issue #61 |
