93 JG. "Over the last few years, I have really come to fully appreciate just how fine a wine the Chevillon Roncières is and I wish I had cellared more of it in my early days of collecting, as I would love to have a cellar full of vintages of this wine approaching maturity! The 2013 is a dynamite wine in the making, soaring from the glass in a blaze of plums, black cherries, incipient notes of meatiness, beautifully pure soil tones, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and shows off great mid-palate depth, with lovely soil signature, excellent focus and balance, ripe tannins and a very long, poised and vibrant finish. A stellar bottle in the making." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2014, Issue #54 |
