93 JG. "Gérard Boudot’s plot of vines in Folatières lie in the steep, upper section of this large premier cru and consequently, the Sauzet version is often much more defined by its minerality than the more buxom examples from parcels further down the slope. The 2010 Folatières is a beautiful and very floral example of the vintage, jumping from the glass in a superb blaze of lemon blossoms, delicious apples, clementines, wonderfully chalky soil tones, orange peel and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with that silky, low yield mid-palate texture, exceptional intensity of flavor, ripe acids and superb length and grip on the very transparent and elegant finish. A beautiful bottle in the making." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2011, Issue #36 |
