Lot #161. Chandon de Briailles Pernand-Vergelesses Ile de Vergelesses Rouge 2014

Description: Consists of 3 Bottles, 0.75L
Score: 92+ JG.
"According to Claude de Nicolay, their parcels in Île de Vergelesses “were just touched by the hail” and the damage was very minimal, so they were able to use forty percent whole clusters for this wine in 2014. The wine has turned out beautifully and is very refined in this vintage, wafting from the glass in a blend of cherries, red currants, stony soil tones, venison, a touch of cinnamon and a bit of bonfire in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and focused beautifully, with a fine core, lovely, chewy and ripe tannins and a long, mineral-driven finish. This has really turned out beautifully . . ." John Gilman, View From the Cellar, Nov/Dec 2015, Issue #60
Provenance: The Jupiter Cellar
Lot Location: Orange County
Estimate: $90
