96 WA. "Another stunning effort from winemaker Paul Lato, the 2014 Pinot Noir John Sebastiano Vineyard (raised in 60% new oak) offers another level of purity and focus over the straight Sta. Rita Hills release. Chambolle-Musigny like with its elegant, ultra-pure and nuanced bouquet of framboise, flowers and spice, this beauty has no hard edges, perfect balance and a seamless, silky texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. It’s beautiful already, yet should keep for 7-8 years, possibly longer. This is a new estate focusing on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County. The wines are made by Paul Lato, and as I think the reviews show, these are well worth tracking down." Wine Advocate #226, Aug 2016 |
