Lot #300. Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains 2010

Description: Consists of 1 Magnum, 1.5L
Score: 95+ JG.
"The 2010 Gouges Vaucrains is simply brilliant. The deep, nascently complex and stunning nose soars from the glass in a blaze of cassis, dark berries, a touch of quail, espresso, magically complex soil tones, smoke and violets. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and suave, with a sappy core of fruit, a stunning signature of soil, substantial, but very fine-grained tannins and superb length and grip on the perfectly focused and tangy finish. This wine perfectly synthesizes the inherent power of Vaucrains with the elegance of the vintage to produce a brilliant young example of 2010." John Gilman, View From the Cellar #36, Dec 2011
Provenance: The Saône Cellar
Lot Location: Orange County
Estimate: $160
