94 WSM. "Viognier plays tricks on shiraz throughout this wine, especially in the vibrant blue-red color with its distinct violet tinge, and the aroma, which gives the impression of the bright Barossa sun warming cool, freshly turned earth. In fact, the whole wine seems cool for its Barossa provenance, with an honest acidity that freshens all its darker fruit and brings out a prickly strawberry perfume. Tannins carry the wine without thickening it; they fade away in the finish, leaving a stony, mineral ghost behind. Delicious . . ." Wine & Spirits Magazine, Oct 2005 |
