"I have a sentimental attachment to this bottle that was given to me many years ago when I visited the region with friends. It tasted spectacular back in the late 1990’s, but I was just a neophyte, my judgement too lenient, no? Actually, this verified my original appraisal and moreover, my table of Pinot-hounds were similarly smitten by this outstanding wine. Clear and lucid in colour. The nose has a sumptuous quality to it with blueberry, iodine, violets and briary – it hardly seems to have aged over the last ten years. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannins, very good weight and lovely rounded texture, caressing the palate and the back of the throat. It has an ‘RSV’ quality to it.
