93 WA. "The 1995 Richebourg Grand Cru is showing very well, offering up a bouquet of dark chocolate, spices, espresso roast, plums, cassis and smoked meats that's a bit more overtly oak-inflected than the older wines from Jean Gros in this tasting. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and layered, with excellent depth and amplitude in its spices and oaky style, underpinned by tangy acids and concluding with a long finish. This is a successful effort that marks the end of an era, as it was the last rendition of Jean Gros's Richebourg produced." William Kelley, Wine Advocate Interim, Jul 2020 |
