94 WA. "Rousseau's 1993 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is showing superbly, unfurling in the glass with aromas of cassis and plums mingled with smoked meats, dark chocolate, peonies and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it's layered and intense, with a brooding core of fruit girdled by racy acids and refined, powdery tannins. In its prime today, the 1993 Charmes is still a youthful, vibrant wine with two decades' evolution ahead of it." William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jul 2020 |
