**** JLL. "Shiny dark red. Violet, blueberry, licorice feature in a bouquet finding its way, has lucid qualities, a square shape. The palate is close-knit, darker than usual for Combard, rolls with a heart-on-its-sleeve nature, holds black cherry and grainy, dark tannins. It is firm, with a note of black olives, out on its own on the finish. This is southern, sudiste wine with northern nerve, is compact. The tannins have scale, and are OK, will settle in; for now, they are assertive, and rule the finish. This carries interest for the drinker. Decanting advised."
