"The 'regular' Auslese from the Helden was filtered in the morning before my afternoon visit, in anticipation of bottling in the next several days, but was still showing very well indeed. The bouquet is deep, pure and complex, offering up scents of pear, fresh pineapple, smoky overtones, wild yeasts, a lovely base of slate and the first signs of the honeycomb to come in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, fullish and very racy, with a fine sense of filigree, bright acids and lovely length and grip on the focused and very classy finish.
