93+ AG. "The 2016 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is another powerful, tightly wound wine. There is not much S&B charm here, at least not today. Even so, the 2016 has quite a bit of density and power. It will be interesting to see if a bit more finesse develops in bottle. I am hopeful it will. Time in the glass brings out attractive dark red stone fruit, rose petal and blood orange, all buoyed by the presence of 33% whole clusters. Even so this is a decidedly closed Pinot from a site that tends to make more forward wines." Vinous, Sep 2018 |
