Lot #102. Maison Leroy Musigny 1980

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 93 AM.
"(From a bottle opened in Burgundy). An extravagantly spicy nose features a mix of secondary red berry fruit aromas that are nuanced by soft but not dominant sous-bois scents. There is a distinctly cool feeing to the pure, intense and overtly mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a still firm but well-balanced, long and highly complex finale. This is a lovely wine that is noticeably less advanced than most 1980s today and I suspect that the bottle must have been stored in very cool conditions to be this vibrant which is entirely possible given how cold the Leroy cellars are."
