"Excellent red-ruby color. Blacker fruit flavors of cassis, blackberry, flowers and wheat. Less volume on entry, but denser and more musclebound. Very concentrated. The cassis flavor is vibrant and primary. Distinctly harder than the '96. Strong underlying backbone and rather pronounced tannins will require at least six or seven years of bottle aging."
