Lot #102. Léoville-Las Cases 1978

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 95 JMQ.
"Ruby red. Softly vermilion. Chestnut highlights. Good intensity. Very brilliant. Nose: clean. Very intense. Complex and fine. Rich nuances of ripe fruit, caramel, wood, spice (cloves), cedar. Very alluring . . . . Intense. A slightly warm hint, vanilla and fruit. Licorice note. Palatable and quite compact. Clean attack. Supple, distinguished and remarkably balanced development with a straight shape and an intense structure, very fleshy, very supple, plump, energetic and concentrated. Evolution towards the finish, with flavors of very ripe fruit, crème fraîche, slightly austere tannins. But what substance! To follow and to keep. A great '78 and very typically Cabernet. Best to wait." Jean-Marc Quarin, Quarin.com, Dec 1990
Notes: Very top shoulder, nicked and lightly scuffed capsule, lightly torn, bin soiled, lightly wrinkled, lightly scuffed label.
