Lot #518. Souverain Cabernet Sauvignon 1968

Description: Consists of 1 Bottle, 0.75L
Score: 95 JG.
" The nose is deep, pure and simply brilliant, as it offers up notes of black cherries, sweet cassis, a touch of summer truffle, sweet pipe tobacco, delicate undertones of eucalyptus, coffee and a lovely base of soil. Interestingly, I left a bit of this wine in the glass over a couple of hours, and rather than fade, it developed additional aromatic notes of tangy raspberries and a violet topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, à point, and very pure, with fine mid-palate depth, impeccable balance and focus and a very long, complex and very intensely flavored finish." View From The Cellar, Mar/Apr 2009, Issue #20
Provenance: The Companion Cellar
Notes: Lightly wine stained capsule, lightly tissue stained, lightly damp stained, very lightly scuffed, very lightly faded label.
