92 WA. "Donnhoff’s 2004 Schlossbockelheimer Kupfergrube Riesling Spatlese offers an almost fiery spice to go with its aromas of distilled tiny-berried raspberries and blueberries. Somehow, the expression 'copper flashing' comes to mind for this wine named for a former copper mine. The palate offers a liqueur-like intensity of berry essences with amazing density and finishing with claw-like grip and tactile pungency. 'A whole ‘nother world from Norheim, isn’t it?' remarks Donnhoff." Wine Advocate #161, Oct 2005 |
