"The 1990 is open-knit and appears to be on a fast evolutionary track. It is a colossal, majestic, multi-dimensional Chateauneuf du Pape, but will require more cellaring. I have been jealously guarding my stock, not wanting to commit infanticide. At the same time, drinking wines such as this is a rare experience . . . . Black/ruby colored with stupendous blackberry and cherry liqueur aromas and flavors, this wine coats and stains the palate with a silky combination of black fruits, high glycerin, and formidable extract.
