95 WA. "Blended of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet-purple in color and hits the dance floor with crushed blueberries, crème de cassis and chocolate-covered cherries notes followed by suggestions of yeast extract, smoked meats and fragrant soil plus a touch of camphor. Full-bodied, concentrated and with a solid frame of ripe, grainy tannins, it has a refreshing line lifting the densely packed fruit, finishing very long. 750 cases produced. The first vintage from this dynamic duo of good pals Françoise Peschon (formerly of Araujo Estate and now with Bart and Daphne’s new project, Accendo Cellars) and Lisa Drinkward (of Behrens & Hitchcock) was 2000. This “Entre Deux Mères” label is a blend of fruit from three Napa Valley vineyards in Calistoga, St. Helena and Oak Knoll." Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate #237, Jun 2018 |
