91+ ST. "Full medium ruby. High-toned scents of black cherry, licorice and resiny herbs. The high-toned quality carries through onto the palate, where the juicy dark berry flavors are a bit medicinal and lacking in real terroir character. Strong juice but it doesn't show the finesse of the preceding samples. I described this wine a year ago as New World in style; today it's a bit brooding and its slightly tough tannins call for extended aging. I should note that this wine was bottled two months later than the Gevrey-Chambertin Bel-Air." Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com, Mar 2017 |
